C4 Pets
To get one of the 3 new C4 pets, you can do one of two things. You can either quest for one, or tame one in the new Wild Beast Pasture area.
By questing you receive a 'Baby' pet. Taming gets you a temporary 'Tamed' pet. The 'Tamed' pets are grown-up versions of the 'Baby' ones, and unlike the quested kind, are able to recharge the master and cast buffs such as Empower 3, Bless the Body/Soul 5, WW2 etc. The kind of buffs it casts depends on the feed you use to tame it.
However, at this time, it doesn't seem like the Tamed pets are permanent, wheras the quested pets are. They are there only as long as the player remains logged on.

Taming Pets:
Tamed pets are grown up versions of their 'Baby' counter parts. They can recharge the owner and cast useful buffs.
Tameable beasts are found in the new Wild Beast Pastures area north of Roun. The monsters in the area are around level 65.
Purchase Feed from a Feed Vendor. Feed Vendor NPCs are located all over the Pastures. There are two kinds of Feed. 'Golden Spicy' and 'Crystal Spicy'. The kind of feed effects the kind of buffs your pet will cast.
Place the Feed in your shortcut bar. Target one of the beasts (Alpen Kukkaburra, Alpen Buffalo, Alpen Cougar) and click on the Feed.
The monster 'grows' as the taming succeeds. At first the mob will be 1/2 HP. Once you succeed in your 1st step of Taming, its HP will double, and will double again if you succeed in the 2nd step.
From there, feed the monster again. If its name changes to 'Tamed xxx' then it means the taming has succeeded. If, instead, the monster's HP grows to x4 then it means the taming failed and you'll have to fight it for your life.
As soon as your taming succeeds, 1 adena will be deducted from your inventory every 2-3 minutes as a maintenance fee. The pet will follow you around and recharge/buff you. (I'm not sure if this pet comes with an inventory item for summoning/unsummoning, nor am I sure whether it comes with an action panel. For now it looks like it just follows you around and assists you until you log off.)
Also, there is a quest that can be done in conjunction with pet taming. The reward is XP.
Suggested Quest Name: Please Raise with Love! Quest Level: 65 Quest Type: Non-repeatable
This quest is not required in order to perform the tames, but you can complete it quite easily if you're going to be taming anyways. Gives XP as a reward. Quest starts from Tunatun in Wild Beast Pastures.
